Senior Mechanical Engineer

​

We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team, an experienced professional ready to take a lead role in our workshop. This is a hands-on position where you'll use your technical skills while also guiding a team of engineers.

​​

The Role:

You'll be a key player in our workshop operations, leading projects from start to finish. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading projects and people: You'll oversee engineering work to ensure it meets our high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. You'll also mentor and supervise other engineers, helping them grow their skills.

  • Executing technical work: You'll handle mechanical engineering tasks in the workshop and at customer sites, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Maintaining standards: You'll ensure all work, from testing to installation, aligns with manufacturer and customer requirements, while also keeping meticulous project records.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, with a strong understanding of health and safety practices. Experience with hydraulics is a plus.

  • A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Engineering.

  • A proven leader with strong communication and mentoring skills.

  • Someone with great organizational skills and a personal drive for excellence.

  • A valid UK Driving Licence.

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000  (depending on experience).

Manual Machinist

​

We're looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team, someone with a passion for creating high-quality, precision components. In this role, you'll use traditional machining techniques on a variety of projects, from one-off parts to larger production runs.

​

The Role:

You'll be a key part of our workshop, responsible for the entire machining process. This includes:

  • Producing parts: You'll operate manual milling machines and lathes to manufacture components, working directly from engineering drawings.

  • Ensuring quality: You'll use precision tools like verniers, micrometers, and gauges to check that finished parts meet tight tolerances.

  • Maintaining the workshop: You'll follow maintenance schedules, report machine faults, and help keep the workspace clean and safe.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a manual machinist (turner/miller) with relevant qualifications.

  • Experience with CNC turning would be beneficial, but we can provide training.

  • A strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Expertise in working to fine tolerances and using precision measuring equipment.

  • A good understanding of materials, cutting tools, and safe machining practices.

  • Someone who is self-motivated, energetic, and dedicated to high-quality work.

Salary: £27,000 - £36,000 (depending on experience).

Mechanical Fitter

​

We're hiring a Mechanical Fitter to join our team, someone who enjoys hands-on problem-solving and a varied workload. This role is perfect for a motivated individual with a background in mechanical engineering who is ready to tackle new challenges.

The Role:

You'll be a key part of our workshop, with responsibilities including:

  • Mechanical work: You'll strip down and reassemble hydraulic cylinders and hoses.

  • Troubleshooting: You'll diagnose and resolve technical issues to get equipment back in working order.

  • Quality control: You'll test repaired rams and complete necessary customer documentation.

We can provide training for tasks like testing rams and manufacturing hydraulic hoses.

Requirements:

 

  • A strong background in mechanical engineering (experience with plant, agriculture, or marine equipment is a plus).

  • A motivated and energetic team player with a positive attitude.

  • Someone who is a natural problem-solver and enjoys a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with hydraulics is a bonus, but not required.

Salary: £27,000 - £34,000 (depending on experience).
